摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve utilization efficiency of light source luminous flux of a direct radiation type lamp for a vehicle provided with a light distribution pattern having cutoff lines on an upper end part. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting element 14 is arranged forward by arranging an end point on a vehicle side of a lower end edge 14a1 of a rectangular-shaped light-emitting chip 14a at a back side focus F of a convex lens 12. An additional lens 22 for surrounding the convex lens 12 in a band shape is arranged around the convex lens 12. The additional lens 22 includes an incident surface 22b, a reflection surface 22c, and an emission surface 22a, and is divided into eight fan-shaped regions 22A-22H in a circumferential direction with respect to an optical axis Ax. This division is carried out in every angle range where a corner point on an outer peripheral edge of the light emitting chip 14a corresponding to a point positioned on an uppermost end is a same corner point on an image of the light emitting chip 14a formed on the reflection surface 22c by light reaching an optional point on the incident surface 22b.
