<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent spectrometer and a spectrometry for surely performing offsetting without intricacy while performing measurement with such noises removed as arising only when a shutter is open. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A detection element 3 is a linear array sensor wherein a multitude of photoelectric conversion parts 31 and 32 are formed in a line. A spectral element 2 separates light of wavelengths in a specification range from light of wavelengths outside the specification range. The conversion parts each comprise a photoelectric conversion part 31 for the specification range and a photoelectric conversion part 32 for the outside of the specification range. A filter 7 for the offsetting is disposed on an optical path to transmit the light of the wavelengths in the specification range while shutting off the light of the wavelengths outside the specification range. A signal processing part 6 executes signal processing wherein a detected signal obtained in the conversion part 32 is used as an offset value and the offset value is subtracted from a measured value which is a detection signal obtained in the conversion part 31.
