<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens assembly having structure capable of suppressing increase of assembly cost, a method for assembling the lens assembly and an imaging apparatus equipped with the lens assembly. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An O-ring 15A is provided with an annular part 150 and protrusive parts 151 and 152. A lens 14A is provided with recessed grooves 142 and 143. The protrusive parts 151 and 152 of the O-ring 15A are made to get in the recessed grooves 142 and 143. An assembly auxiliary function to prevent the O-ring 15A from falling by applying tensile force to the protrusive parts is shown when it is fit, and an assembly auxiliary function to correct twist is shown after it is attached. Furthermore, the protrusive parts 151 and 152 are cut, and the protrusive parts which have been cut are partially attached and fixed to the lens 14A after it is fit.
