<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal plate thickness measuring device of an oil hydrostatic-type gas holder dispensing with replenishment of acoustic wave propagation medium liquid to be applied between an ultrasonic search unit and a seal plate. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This seal plate thickness measuring device of the oil hydrostatic-type gas holder for measuring the thickness of the seal plate is mounted on the gas holder for storing gas in a space formed by a shell part, an upper lid moved vertically in the shell part, an oil groove formed on the peripheral face of the upper lid, and the seal plate 8 dipped in a seal oil 6 in the oil groove and rust-jointed onto the inner wall surface of the shell part. The device includes a search unit protection case 15 fixed on the seal plate, for blocking the ultrasonic search unit stored inside from the seal oil; a coil spring 7 for allowing pressure contact of the search unit onto the seal plate; a cable for transmitting a signal delivered from the search unit; and a hose 18 for filling the acoustic wave propagation medium liquid, and blocking the acoustic wave propagation medium liquid from the seal oil.
