PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing of a resin particle for toner excellent in both of storage stability and low temperature fixing property. SOLUTION: The resin particle for toner is manufactured by the method for manufacturing of resin particle for toner according to a sol-gel method, in which, more concretely, a metal alkoxide (d), preferably an alkoxide of silicon or aluminum is brought into contact with the surface of a resin particle (A) having at least one group of hydroxide group and carboxyl group on the surface in a solvent (S) containing no active hydrogen, preferably in a saturated hydrocarbon of 5 to 20C to form a layer (B) of metal oxide (c).
