<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user himself/herself to set a thumbnail image intuitively understandable to himself/herself to a title, to intuitively identify mutually related titles from a plurality of titles recorded in a recording medium, and to reliably distinguish a difference between the mutually related titles. Ž<P>SOLUTION: For example, when a plurality of mutually related titles (titles 401a-401d), such as serial dramas, have been recorded in the recording medium, thumbnail pointers 410b-410d of other titles 401b-401d are set so that a thumbnail original image 406, which is used for the thumbnail image of a certain title (parent title 401a), is designated. In the thumbnail display of each title, composited thumbnail images 408a-408d, where pieces of information (pieces of title inherent information 410a-410d) of each title are composited, are created on the pattern of the thumbnail original image.
