<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening and closing type prop for plant cultivation, structually stabilizing a post frame body for plant cultivation, excellent in operability, and easily constructable. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This opening and closing type prop for plant cultivation is such that connecting members 5 and 5 which are each fixed to an upper part of a pair of left and right props 2 and 2 are connected with each other so as to make the props 2 and 2 openable and closable, and superpose the props 2 and 2 on each other in the back and forth direction crossing at right angles to the opening and closing direction of the prop, and a retaining member 7 which retains a part 12 to be retained of a lateral connecting rod 11 which extends in the back and forth direction is set so as to exist on an upper side of a connection part 6 of the props. The retaining member 7 is set with a retaining groove 9 whose upper end is opened and both the ends in the back and forth direction are opened, and the part 12 to be retained is held in the retaining groove 9 and resiliently nipped.
