MULTICOMPONENT ASSEMBLY HAVING ENHANCED BINDING PROPERTY FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THERAPY

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for enhancing affinity of an optionally weakly binding targeted molecule so as to heighten usefulness for a diagnosis and/or therapeutic object. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An organized mobile multicomponent conjugate (OMMC) to enhance binding of compounds weakly binding to a target and a method of using the same, are provided. A lamellar structure containing at least two binding compounds is assembled under the conditions in which the binding compounds self-regulate in or on the laminar structure, forming a cooperative ensemble capable of binding with enhanced affinity to a complementary affinity site on a target. Each binding compound is bound to the lamellar surface and may be connected by a linker. The OMMC may contain an effector molecule such as a diagnostic or therapeutic agent for administration to a patient to be diagnosed or treated by using the effector molecule.
