<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polynucleotide and polypeptide useful for prophylaxis, diagnosis and/or therapy. <P>SOLUTION: Provided are SMC-1 gene and SMC-2 gene comprising a specific sequence of Moraxella catarrhalis, vectors containing the nucleotide, and hosts transfected with the vector. Polypeptides comprising the gene sequence and a production method thereof are also provided.
