PURPOSE: A drowsy driving warning method and apparatus are provided to determine drowsy driving without special operation by the driver or interference on driving and raise attention of the driver using warning light or sound. CONSTITUTION: A drowsy driving warning apparatus comprises a central control unit(110) which outputs a warning signal by reading a sensor value and comparing it with the speed of a vehicle, an analog sensor unit(120) which senses the travel type of the vehicle and transmits it to the central control unit, an infrared sensor unit(130) which senses the head motion of the driver, a speed detection unit(140) which senses the current travel speed of the vehicle, an alarm module(150) which outputs warning sound according to the signal provided from the central control unit, and an alarm level selector switch(160) which allows the driver to select an alarm level depending on the physical condition.
