PURPOSE: A leveling device for a ladder is provided to maintain horizontality even in stairs or a slope, and change the length of both longitudinal frames of the ladder easily. CONSTITUTION: A leveling device for a ladder comprises an upper guide plate, a lower guide plate, a key(13), a bar(3), a stop plate(17), and a spring(21). A through hole in which the bar is inserted is formed on the upper and lower guide plates. The upper and lower guide plates are fixed in a vertical frame(101) of the ladder at the right angle. The key is within a vertical plate in which the upper and lower guide plates are connected to the vertical frame of the ladder. The bar coupled with the through hole of the upper and lower guide plates slides in the longitudinal direction of the ladder by weight. The stop plate arranged between the lower guide plate and the key is inclined around the bar. The spring inserted between the lower guide plate and the stop plate flexibly pressurizes the stop plate toward the key.
