PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing the positional deviation of a secondary transfer position, in particular, with a simple constitution, accordingly, capable of preventing deterioration in image quality. SOLUTION: The secondary transfer roller 36 of the image forming apparatus 10 is fixed while being positioned related to an intermediate transfer belt 28. A bias applying part 40 applies a bias having the same polarity as that of the toner T constituting a registration correcting pattern or a gradation correcting pattern formed on the intermediate transfer belt 28 to the rotating shaft (core bar) 42 of the secondary transfer roller 36.
