<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of purifying contaminated soil and/or ground water using silicon sludge and having an improved purification speed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method of purifying contaminated soil and/or ground water comprises forming a trench or hole (4) in an contaminated area (6) and/or its surrounding areas and arranging bags (5) of a biodegradable fiber containing silicon sludge in the trench or hole (4).
