<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a plane exothermic body, in which a lead wire can be easily and surely fixed on a sheet-shaped base material without using a metallic fixing tool or using any means for solidifying the fixing portion by a hot-melt ejection mold jig and moreover without any fear of damages to the lead wire. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The plane exothermic body 1 is composed of a sheet-shaped base material 2 made of nonwoven fabric, an exothermic metal fine wire 4 mounted on the sheet-shaped base material 2 in a suitable pattern by sewing or the like, and a lead wire 5 or the like connected with the exothermic metal fine wire 4, and in a fixing portion 8 between the lead wire 5 and sheet-shaped base material 2, the lead wire 5 is fixed by making it adhere to adhere to the sheet-shaped base material by ultrasonic-heating of a small resin sheet piece 9 previously coated by hot-melt 10.
