PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tilt sensor in which a thin size can be achieved. SOLUTION: The tilt sensor A is provided with: a light-emitting element 4 and a pair of light-receiving elements 5A, 5B which are arranged mutually separated in a surface direction of a detection object surface; a rolling element 6 which, by a change in gravity direction in the surface direction, takes a full shading position where the light from the light-emitting element 4 is not made to reach any of the pair of the light receiving elements, a pair of half-shading positions where the light from the light-emitting element 4 is made to reach only one of the pair of light-receiving elements 5A, 5B, and a non-shaded position 60 where the light from the light-emitting element 4 is made to reach either of the pair of light-receiving elements; and a gap portion 3 which houses the rolling element 6 and is connected to an outgoing port 22a to which the light from the light-emitting element 4 is emitted and a pair of incident ports 23Aa, 23Ba from which the light enters into the pair of light receiving elements 5A, 5B.
