<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a plane exothermic body, in which a PVC-coated lead wire can be surely fixed on a sheet-shaped base material without using a metallic fixing tool and without any fear of a short circuit failure due to damage to the lead wire. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The plane exothermic body 1 is composed of a sheet-shaped base material 2 made of nonwoven fabric, an exothermic metal fine wire 4 mounted suitably on the sheet-shaped base material 2, and a PVC-coated lead wire 5 to connect with the exothermic metal fine wire 4 and, in a fixing portion between the sheet-shaped base material 2 and the lead wire 5, a melting portion 11 of vinyl chloride resin is permeated into the sheet-shaped base material 2 by ultrasonic-heating of a small piece of vinyl chloride resin for fixation.
