PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microtome replacement blade that allows slicing, has high durable sharpness, does not cause flaw in a slice sample. SOLUTION: A cutting edge 30 of the microtome replacement blade 10 for microtome has a rake face 40 and flank 50 forming the cutting edge angle, resin coating 40a is disposed on the rake face 40, and the flank 50 is coated with no resin coating or thin resin coating 50a having a tip of thickness of 1μm or less. In the manufacturing method of the microtome replacement blade 10, the rake face 40 and flank 50 forming the cutting edge angle of the cutting edge 30 of the replacement blade are prepared, then the resin coating 40a is applied to the rake face 40, and the flank 50 is coated with no resin coating or resin coating 50a thinner than the rake face 40.
