PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe joint displacement preventing tool and method which use simplified structural members without the need for much time and labor, prevent the relative displacement of both spigot and socket portions in a pipe axial direction against unexpected outer force such as earthquake, and maintain sealing performance in an existing fluid pipe. SOLUTION: The pipe joint displacement preventing tool includes, at least, a cylindrical body 10 arranged between the inner peripheral faces of both spigot and socket portions 1, 2 at their opposed position, and provided with through-holes 11, 12 having female screw portions 11a, 12a at opposite positions to the inner peripheral face of the spigot portion 1 and to the inner peripheral face of the socket portion 2, respectively, and bolts 17, 17 to be threaded through the female screw portions 11a, 12a of the through-holes 11, 12.
