PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical glass suitable for mold press molding, which has a refractive index of 1.65-1.95, such a low sag point as ≤500°C and good devitrification resistance. SOLUTION: The optical glass contains, as an oxide composition, (1) 7-28 wt.% B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 30-77 wt.% Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and 3-35 wt.% Ga<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and (2) at least one selected from the group consisting of 0.1-35 wt.% R<SB>2</SB>O (wherein R is Li, Na, K, Rb or Cs) and 0.1-25 wt.% R'O (wherein R' is Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba or Zn) when the total amount of the glass is considered to be 100 wt.%, and has a refractive index of 1.65-1.95 and a sag point of ≤500°C.
