PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new gadolinium compound having high T1 relaxation ability, enabling imaging in high sensitivity only by small dosage, exhibiting excellent imaging of the systemic blood vessel and the liver, and having the safety of enabling a large amount thereof to be excreted to the outside of the body within 24 hr, and to provide a contrast medium for MRI, containing the compound. SOLUTION: The gadolinium compound is a gadolinium complex such as Glu-4Ac-Gd-DTPA, Glu-4-Gd-DTPA-6 and Glu-4-Gd-DTPA-3 (wherein, Glu is glucose; Ac is acetyl; and DTPA is diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid).
