The objective is to provide a fixed-type, constant-velocity universal joint that can alleviate stress when there is interference between the balls and the edge part, with which chipping of the edge part does not readily occur, and that enables the service life of the entire joint to be improved, even during unexpected high-angle operation, and especially when the assumed angle of use of the joint is exceeded. The fixed-type, constant-velocity universal joint has an outer joint element having multiple track grooves (22) formed in the inside surface (21), an inner joint element having multiple track grooves (25) formed in the outside surface (24), multiple balls (27) between the track grooves (22) of the outer joint element and the track grooves (25) of the inner joint element to transfer torque, and a holding part (28) that holds the balls (27). A notched R part (32) is provided at least in the area corresponding to the ball contact point at the track entrance end (22a) of the track grooves (22) of the outer joint element. |
