<p>It is possible to obtain a preferable performance in a radio communication using time-space coding without complicating a decoding process even when the correlation between channels is high. A transmission device which performs time-space coding using QO-STBC includes: a modulation unit (200); an S/P conversion unit (202); a QO-STBC encoder (204); and four transmission antennas (206A to 206D). The QO-STBC encoder (204) uses a coding matrix of an ABBA-code matrix which is deformed and multiplied by a matrix T. Each row component of the conjugate transposed matrix is formed by two elements and the corresponding equivalent channel matrix has a determinant of a non-zero value.</p>
