PURPOSE: A spark plug and a welding method of an electrode tip thereof are provided to reduce an amount of a noble metal by forming an electrode tip with a hollow pipe shape. CONSTITUTION: A spark plug includes a central electrode(3), an insulator(2), a fitting(1), a ground electrode(4), and an electrode tip(31,32). An end part of a main body of the central electrode is tapered. An end surface of the main body of the central electrode is flat. The insulator surrounds the central electrode. The fitting surrounds the insulator. One end of the ground electrode is coupled in the fitting. The other end of the ground electrode is faced with the central electrode. The electrode tip is fixed to the ground electrode and the central electrode, has a hollow pipe shape, and is made of a noble metal material.
