An exhaust purification device for an engine has a first casing (17) placed in an exhaust path (13), a second casing (23) placed on the downstream side of the first casing (17) and receiving a exhaust purification device (24), a connection pipe (22, 41, 51) for interconnecting the first casing (17) and the second casing (23) and having an insertion section inserted in the first casing (17), and an injection nozzle (27, 52) for injecting an assistance agent from a tip section inserted and positioned in the connection pipe (22, 41, 51). Through holes (22a, 41a, 41b, 51a) for allowing communication between the inside and outside of the insertion section of the connection pipe (22, 41, 51) are formed in the insertion section. Exhaust gas in the first casing (17) is introduced through the through holes into the connection pipe (22, 41, 51) and is guided toward the second casing (23).
