<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The unit e.g. shock absorber (10), has a spring plate (20) defining a position of the unit when an opening i.e. rear hatch (14), is in an open position, and another position of the unit when the opening is in a closed position, during which the spring plate is deformed. The spring plate is deformable in a deformation direction (Z) perpendicular to a junction between a body part i.e. rear bumper skin (12), and the opening. A spacer ensures minimum spacing between an upper wall of the unit and the opening, and is retractable with the help of a strippable foldable hinge film. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for positioning a body part with respect to an opening of a motor vehicle. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Positioning unit e.g. shock absorber and grille screen, (all claimed) for positioning a body part i.e. rear bumper skin, with respect to an opening i.e. rear hatch, of a motor vehicle during mounting of the vehicle.
