The folder has a cutting-blade cylinder (11) and a base folding unit into which a number of web substrates are guided. A longitudinal fold stage (7) is subordinate to a folding jaws cylinder (13). Puncture- or gripper fold cylinders (12) and the folding jaws cylinder have a periphery of height of 5 printed copies or greater. The longitudinal fold stage exhibits a longitudinal folding device, and a deceleration station is arranged between the base folding unit and the longitudinal folding device. An independent claim is also included for a method for production of printed products of a number of web substrates.
