The compounds are suitable for making photoprotectors as aresult of their improved phototechnical stability and activeabsorption of UV-light from 290 to 320 nm. The method for theirpreparation consists in reaction between diphene anhydrite or itsderivatives and acetylacetone in a medium of acetic anhydride andin the presence of tertiary base. The separated crystallineproduct is washed with water and is dissolved in dilute solutionof sodium base. It is treated with absorbent and the filtrate isacidified with dilute solution of mineral acid. The solid productis recrystallized in ogranic solvent.
