An optical system for carrying out measurements on and/or for inspection of one or more objects over a given angle, in particular over 360 DEG , comprises an illumination system for illuminating at least a part of the space around the optical system, a reflector having a substantially conical reflector surface, and an image recording device for recording via this reflector surface an image originating from at least a part of the illuminated space. The optical measuring system further comprises correction means arranged between the reflector and the image recording device for compensating image defects. These correction means are formed by a lens of which at least one surface is substantially conical.
