<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily control the scroll display of a sub-picture superimposed on a video image. <P>SOLUTION: In a recording device, a size [Hsize] in the horizontal direction and a size [Vsize] in the vertical direction in a sub-picture image (a sub-picture image region 61) to be decoded, a display start position (Xstart, Ystart) and a display end position (Xend, Yend), in the sub-picture image (a sub-picture display region 62) to be displayed in a video display region 51, are set; and offset values [Xoffset], [Yoffset] of the sub-picture from the sub-picture top position P (Xp, Yp) to the display start position (Xstart, Ystart) of a sub-picture display region 62 are simply changed for each display time, thus enabling the scroll display of the sub-picture image for each display time in a reproducing device, which can be applied to the recording device for recording an MPEG stream on a recording medium, and the reproducing device for reproducing the MPEG stream recorded to the recording medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
