Vapour of a citrus essential oil blend and its antimicrobial properties

A vapour of a blend comprising the oil of orange and the oil of bergamot, a process for its preparation and its use as an antimicrobial. The vapour has been found to be particularly useful on food contaminated with microorganisms without affecting the sensory properties of the food. Also claimed is the use of the vapour as an antimicrobial against anti-biotic bacteria, spore-bearing bacteria and in the sanitation of air and/or equipment used in the food industry or in clinical environments. The use of the vapour as an antimicrobial against plant pathogens in a greenhouse is also claimed.
