PURPOSE: A multiband terminal and a frequency setting method for supporting two or more frequency bands are provided to preferentially search the frequency band corresponding to the band indicator by acquiring the band indicator and the broadcast control channel allocation list. CONSTITUTION: An RF(Radio Frequency) communication unit(210) receives a system information message broadcasted from a base station. A storage(260) stores a band indicator. A controller(270) preferentially camps on the frequency band corresponding to the band pointer in a camp-on event. The controller stores the band pointer on a broadcasting control channel allocation list in the system information message.
