METHOD FOR TEMPORAL ERROR CONCEALMENT

PURPOSE: A temporal error concealment method is provided to omit an unnecessary operating process, thereby offering good performance as reducing a waste of time. CONSTITUTION: Motion similarity between peripheral blocks is calculated(S10). Based on the calculated motion similarity, motion vectors of peripheral blocks in a direction evaluated as being the most similar are adaptively determined as candidate motion vectors of a lost block(S11). Blocks of reference frames corresponding to the candidate motion vectors are searched to determine final motion vectors(S12). According to the final motion vectors, the lost block is restored(S13).
