<p>Disclosed is a wood preservative composition comprising: Milled particles at least 20% by weight of a sparingly soluble copper salt and/or a sparingly soluble zinc salt having a Ksp less than about 1 E-8, wherein greater than 95% by weight of the particles have a diameter less than 0.5 microns, and at least 50% have a diameter greater than 40 nanometers, and wherein the sparingly soluble copper salt is selected from the group consisting of copper borate, basic copper borate, copper carbonate, basic copper carbonate, tribasic copper sulfate, copper oxychloride, alkaline copper nitrate, copper ferricyanide, copper ferricyanate, copper flllorosilicate, copper thiocyanate, copper diphosphate, copper boride, copper phosphate, copper oxide and mixtures thereof, the wood preservative composition further comprising one or more corrosion inhibiting agents. Also disclosed are the processes of their preparation.</p> |
