The method involves determining a protective fuse (Fi) of an electrical circuit based on an electrical charge current profile of an electrical unit of a motor vehicle. Temperature of a charge supply cable (i) is calculated based on given current (Ii) that passes in the cable, and minimum diameter of the cable. Diameter of the cable is increased till the fuse interrupts an electrical circuit before the temperature of the cable reaches a critical destruction temperature (Tsec) of the cable or till the temperature of the cable is stabilized below the critical temperature.
