Discloses a pharmaceutical dosage form comprising therapeutic amounts of: a Beta-adrenergic receptor antagonist and/or a diuretic; an inhibitor of HMG CoA reductase; an inhibitor of the rennin-angiotensin system; and aspirin; wherein acidic components are separated from basic components. The pharmaceutical dosage form reduces risk of cardiovascular event with minimal or no physical and chemical incompatibility, and gives reduced side effects normally associated with use of such active agents.
