<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of frames through which an error propagates without significantly changing a code amount when an error occurs during the transmission/reception of data relating to video contents. <P>SOLUTION: Coded video content data are made into packets and transmitted, and when the error information of the transmitted packet is received from the reception side, the error area of the frame pertinent to the packet is determined on the basis of the received error information. In the frame to be transmitted after the error information is received, a coding mode for coding the data is changed to an intra-image coding mode only for an area corresponding to the determined error area and the adjacent area, and the number of the frames through which an error propagates is reduced even while suppressing the increase of a code amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
