<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure adequate restraining performance speedily in a wide occupant restraining area. <P>SOLUTION: This curtain airbag device 1 includes a curtain airbag body 2 capable of being expanded and developed on the side surface in a vehicle cabin by an inflow of pressure gas. The curtain airbag body 2 is provided with a multi-stage chamber 15 composed of an upper large-diameter chamber 16 arranged in the upper part in the occupant restraining area 14 corresponding to the position of an occupant and having a cross section with a relatively large diameter, a lower large-diameter chamber 17 arranged down below the upper large-diameter chamber 16 and having a cross section with a relatively large diameter, and an exhaust passage 18 arranged adjacently in a sandwiched manner between the upper large-diameter chamber 16 and the lower large-diameter chamber 17 and having a cross section with a relatively small diameter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
