PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin discrimination device which can improve discriminating performance by picking up images of both sides of a coin and whose cost is comparatively low. SOLUTION: Mirrors 13 are combined to photograph the upper and lower surfaces of a coin 2 by using one camera 14. Thus, images of both surfaces of the coin without deformation can be picked up, and even in case when the pattern on one side of the coin is common to every countries in identical denomination and the other side thereof has different patterns for each of countries like euro coins, denomination can be surely discriminated.
