PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel substrate capable of measuring the sample or the like in a channel with high precision regardless of the kind or capacity of an optical measuring means. SOLUTION: The channel substrate is used when the sample in the channel is detected by an optical means while the sample is allowed to flow through the channel 12 provided in a substrate and equipped with at least an introducing part 13 for introducing the sample into the channel, and a discharge part 14 for discharging the sample from the channel. At least two surfaces 15a and 15b of a detection part different in the distance up to the channel are provided to at least one side of the substrate to constitute the channel substrate 1a.
