COMPLEMENTARY RECESSIVE GENES INVOLVED IN RICE HYBRID BREAKDOWN AND SCREENING MARKER THEREOF

PURPOSE: A complementary recessive gene relating to hybrid breakdown and a screening kit are provided to effectively select hybrid degeneration of rice plant. CONSTITUTION: A complementary recessive gene relating to hybrid breakdown is hwh1(hybrid weakness h1) and hwh2(hybrid weakness h2). The recessive genes, hwh1 and hwh2 comprise the gene sequence of the sequence numbers 1 and 2, respectively. A primer set for screening hybrid breakdown of rice plant comprises an oligonucleotide set of sequence numbers 3 and 4 or the set of sequence numbers 5 and 6. A kit for screening the hybrid breakdown contains the primer set and reagent for performing PCR.
