SOLUTION: This control device for a cargo handling cylinder in a forklift truck is provided with the proportional solenoid valve 5 to regulate flow of operating fluid to supply desired flow to the lift cylinder 4 in a work machine, and a controller 7 to output a controlled variable i determined using data K in a table for computation based on the lever shift quantity s of the lift lever 8 for controlling the lift cylinder 4 through the proportional solenoid valve 5. In the data K in the table for computation to be stored in the controller 7, the inflection point c is provided close to the maximum value m of the lever shift quantity s, and the data K between the inflection point c and the maximum value m is changeably set based on a maximum value adjusting means.
