GATEWAY DEVICE, COMMUNICATION SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME, AND COMMUNICATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gateway device for reducing a time for switch processing to a reservation GGSN (Gateway GPPS Support Node) user plane packet processor when a fault occurs and improving processing ability.

SOLUTION: The gateway device 1 includes: a plurality of packet processors 9 and 10 which are provided on a core network side for mutually connecting a wireless network 4 and a core network 3 and a process packet 18 transmitted to the wireless network 4 side from the core network 3 side; and a packet management device 12 which is connected to the plurality of packet processors 9 and 10 via a transmission path 17 and uniformly manages the plurality of packet processors 9 and 10.
