PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier which stably maintains desired low resistance value and excellent charging properties even to environmental variation, and which suppress the shaving and peeling of a covering layer, and the color stain of a toner caused thereby, even in stirring over a long period. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic carrier obtained by forming a covering layer on the surface of a core material particle having magnetism using a covering layer-dispersed liquid obtained by dissolving or dispersing at least a binder resin and conductive particulates into a solvent, at least a guanamine resin or a melamine resin and a resin capable of cross-linking reacted with the guanamine resin or melamine resin are contained as the binder resin, and also, as the conductive particulates, solvent-soluble conductive polymer particulates containing an acceptor dopant are contained.
