<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stapler clinching across an obstacle such as a flange of a duct and keeping a stop attitude without moving a clincher arm in the direction for driving staple by driving and hitting a staple. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This stapler is provided with a clincher turn mechanism 50 for turning the clincher arm 8 in the vertical direction for the direction for driving staple. This clincher turn mechanism 50 turns the clincher arm 8 to a first position where the clincher 6 receives the staple guided by a nose part 3 and bends it, and to a second position where the clincher 6 enlarges an interval between the nose part 3 and it. The obstacle such as the flange of the duct is thereby arranged on an inner side of the clincher arm 8 to clinch across the flange. When driving staple, the clincher arm 8 does not move in the direction for driving staple and keeps a stop attitude so that staple is bound precisely. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
