<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing process of producing at a low cost and stably a unidirectional sheet base material which has satisfactory flowability, shape followability in case used as a molding material and which reveals excellent mechanical properties in case used as a fiber-reinforced plastic. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the manufacturing process of the unidirectional sheet base material of forming the sheet shape base material in which only discontinuous reinforced fibers 11 are drawn and arranged substantially in a uniform direction and fiber ends are separated at random, continuous reinforced fiber bundles are cut in a predetermined fiber length and a predetermined shape to obtain chopped fiber bundles, this chopped fiber bundles CFB are arranged in one direction to be a sheet 4, this sheet is conveyed at a predetermined speed, the sheet is stretched in the conveying direction, and is drafted to obtain the unidirectional sheet base material 5.
