<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of more speedily performing correlation processing with a reference signal. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus S comprises an image processing part 15 for forming the image of inside of a subject based on the reception of a second ultrasonic signal from inside the subject based on a first ultrasonic signal received by a receiving part 13 for receiving ultrasonic waves; a correlation part 14 for detecting the second ultrasonic signal from the output of the receiving part 13 by the correlation processing between the output of the receiving part 13 and a preset reference signal; and a first reference signal storing part 141 for storing a plurality of reference signals set according to the order of harmonics to be detected, the diagnostic region of the subject, and the diagnostic depth of the subject. The correlation part 14 performs the correlation processing by selecting one reference signal from the plurality of reference signals according to the order of harmonics to be detected, the diagnostic region of the subject and the diagnostic depth of the subject.
