<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent flickering when switching hot water temperature display to eliminate uncomfortable feeling and to improve handleability, in an electric kettle capable of changing a plurality of setting temperatures of the temperature control of liquid. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The temperature of the liquid inside a container 2 is detected by a temperature detection means 4 and displayed at a display means 5, the setting temperature of the temperature control of the liquid inside the container 2 is changed by a temperature selection and input means 7, elapsed time from the change of the setting temperature of the temperature control in the temperature selection and input means 7 is measured by an elapsed time measuring means 8, and temperature display by the display means 5 is maintained by a temperature display maintaining means 15. The temperature display maintaining means 15 maintains the temperature display when input from the temperature selection and input means 7 is received without updating the temperature display by the display means 5 until the time measured in the elapsed time measuring means 7 passes the first prescribed time, and changes the display temperature stepwise by a temperature stepwise change means 14 after the time measured in the elapsed time measuring means 8 passes the first prescribed time.
