HEATER COVERED WITH CERAMICS OF IMPULSE SEALER

A heavy transformer is essential for an impulse heat sealer because the heater wire is short and wide. However, the transformer can be omitted when thin slits are made in a strip heater wire from the opposite sides to give the heater wire a zigzagged and elongated shape. But in order to use a heater in safety in a country employing a power supply voltage of 200-240V, such a structure, that a hand is kept away from a bare heater wire semi-permanently, and generated heat moves quickly to the surface and dissipates, is required. On the heating part of a zigzag heater wire consisting of a thin plate of metal resistor, a thin plate of a good-heat-conducting electric insulator such as aluminum nitride having a thickness of 0.6 mm is superimposed, the entire circumference excepting the upper surface thereof is surrounded by a thermoelectric insulator such as a glass cloth, and then those components are bonded by means of an adhesive and secured onto a heat dissipation base.
