A plasma display panel (PDP; 10) comprises a first substrate and a second substrate which face each other across a discharge space. The first substrate includes first electrodes (XE) and second electrodes (YE) extending in a first direction (D1) and address electrodes (AE) extending in a second direction (D2) crossing the first direction (D1). For example, the address electrode (AE) is provided in each cell column area (CA) formed between barrier ribs (BR) adjacent to each other. In an image display area (DA) constituted by cell column areas (CA), at least some address electrodes (AE) of the address electrodes (AE) are arranged symmetrically with respect to a central line (CL1) along the second direction (D2) of the display area (DA). Consequently, the balance between right and left brigthnesses of an image displayed on the PDP (10) when viewed from the center of the PDP (10) can be improved.
