PURPOSE: A controller for an automatic transfer switch of a switchgear is provided to reduce an operation time of the automatic transfer switch by detecting a waveform change of an inputted common electricity and controlling an operation current of a switch according to the waveform change. CONSTITUTION: An automatic transfer switches control device of the device for coupling main cable includes a transformer, and the control device. A switchgear includes a power receiving equipment and a power distribution equipment. The current transformer(CT) watches an input state of the common electricity. The control device(403) supplies power gradually based upon the voltage waveform of the common electricity detected from a transformer as the driving coil of the automatic transfer switches(ATS). The control device controls the switch to supply power to load in detecting a stoppage of power supply or voltage deviation less than a reference after maintain a stand by state of the automatic transfer switches gradually.
